What is a Mobile Notary?

A Notary Public is an official of integrity appointed by state government — typically by the secretary of state — to serve the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of official fraud-deterrent acts related to the signing of important documents. These official acts are called notarizations, or notarial acts.

A mobile notary is a notary public who is commissioned by the state to perform notarizations on documents. Instead of meeting them at the notary public office, however, mobile notaries travel to you for signings. They can meet you at your home, office, or even at a coffee shop or library.

A mobile notary is hired to make sure that important documents are being signed by the correct people and without duress or coercion. In other words, they verify the signer’s identity, ensure they understand the document’s contents, and sign of their own free will. Documents that are typically notarized include:

Acknowledgements

Wills

Powers of attorney

Deeds

Estate Plans

And many more...If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!

Why Might You Need A Mobile Notary?

  • You have a busy schedule and don't have time to visit a notary during regular business hours.

  • You prefer the convenience and flexibility of meeting at a comfortable location.

  • You do not have access to transportation.

  • You are unable to travel for any reason and need a notary to come to you.

A notary public may not notarize a signature on a document if the person whose signature is being notarized is not in the presence of the notary public at the time the signature is notarized.
